He Wore Himself Out

After my comments last week of Elias boycotting the nap, he has plumb worn himself out. This last weekend, we decided to be much more committed in our introductions of the hammock for naps. (He would sometimes fall asleep in it, sometimes not, so we weren't using it very regularly...) In the last few days he has been napping like a champ in it, even appearing to prefer it over his usual manner of falling asleep. Yesterday there were three naps totalling five hours. This, compared to last week one day where he had three naps totalling 2.5 hours.

This all comes as a huge relief to Rachel, because Elias is too heavy to be wearing strapped to her for hours on end. And, she's not exactly inspired to head out for a two hour walk every time the little one needs to rest.

In other news, the daffodils are springing up out of the ground, while the weather reports still threaten snow. Why didn't our friends remind us that we like WARM weather before they let us move? The sun shines, but it doesn't keep hands and feet cozy, or keep noses from running...boo. We can't wait until it warms up! Luckily, in our case, that's only like 5 more months...double boo.

"Brr...it's not cool when you have to wear a hat inside, even when the heat's on full blast."
